It’s official!
The How Movement; a Sacramento, California based 501c3 is now launching one our first programs to help eliminate Illiteracy and Generational Poverty with our children! We would like to formally welcome and introduce you to our Kindle to College Program; based on the Amazon Kindle ebook authored by Philippe SHOCK Matthews.
The Kindle to College Program is the first program of its kind to both empower a child’s educational and economic future by teaching them how to author their very own Kindle ebook and Print book using Amazon’s KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) and Createspace (POD-Print On Demand) by showing them how to tell and share use their unique story to pay for their college and the rest of their lives!
In our fight against Generational Poverty and Generational Illiteracy, the Kindle to College Program aggressively promotes literacy, economic security, entrepreneurship, generational literacy and self efficacy. The child enrolled in this program will learn not just how to write and author a book but how to use their mind to honor, value and monetize everything that they think, say and do for the rest of their lives!

OUR GOALS WITH THE KINDLE TO COLLEGE PROGRAM
Based on the tools, principles, and process outlined from the actual book authored by Philippe SHOCK Matthews, “The Kindle to College Program (http://bit.ly/1DcapdT)” will be taught using Google collaborative technology such as Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Hangout.
Using the tools, principles, and process outlined from the The Kindle to College Program book (http://bit.ly/1DcapdT), the How Movement will work with parent/guardian(s) and their child to help them write, produce and author their very first Kindle ebook. In many cases, children graduating from this program will become First Time Generation Young Authors!
Additionally, students and parents will be assigned with a Kindle to College Program Instructor (Philippe SHOCK Matthews), using the aforementioned internet technologies to receive lesson plans, book writing assignments, assess goals, monitor and manage their progress throughout the program to ensure our First Time Generation Young Authors graduate from the program successfully.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
Each child working with their parent/guardian, will receive their own personal KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) account where their kindle ebook(s) will be uploaded, displayed and sold on Amazon.com. Our Kindle to College Program First Time Generation Young Authors will also receive their very own Amazon Author Page (Example) that will showcase their book(s), author bio, twitter, video book trailer and blog.
The publishing arm of the How Movement will then have their book edited and formatted for upload to their Amazon KDP account along with collaborating with our First Time Generation Young Author to produce their desired and required Digital Book Cover according to KDP’s specifications.
The Kindle to College Program will also perform the necessary Amazon SEO by researching and choosing the best keywords and book categories based on book title and genre, produce the Book Description along with their Author Bio. The program will also set up our First Time Generation Young Author’s book marketing social spaces such as a dedicated Facebook page, twitter, youtube, google +, etc.
Additionally, the How Movement’s Kindle to College Program will produce our First Time Generation Young Author’s book video trailer (Example) and promote it throughout the How Movement’s social spaces as well as with our Social Media Partners.

BONUS PROGRAM:
First Time Generation Young Authors in Print!
When a child is enrolled in our Kindle to College Program, they will automatically be eligible and enrolled to turn their Kindle ebook into a POD (Print On Demand) book via Amazon’s Createspace publishing platform.
Each young author will receive their very own Createspace account (monitored by their parent) to further ensure their fiscal success by taking their Kindle ebook and making it available to Amazon.com customers as a physical, print on demand book.
The Kindle to College Program will format the Createspace book according to Amazon’s specs and produce the required book cover graphics. The program will also assist in securing the necessary book endorsements that will appear on their author page and on the back cover of their book.
